Viscosity is a crucial parameter before and during the spinning process step of viscose fibers. While an out of specification viscosity directly affects the filament’s quality, a too high viscosity also increases the required energy effort.
Using the inline viscosity measurement L-Vis 510 the increasing viscosity in the ripening step is monitored to end this process step and to identify the optimum timing for the wet spinning. A consistently high product quality and optimum process conditions are ensured. As an additional benefit, the effort for manual sampling and lab measurements can be reduced.
