Sensor specialist BAUMER continues to expand its award winning range of Smart Visioncode and text reading sensors with the introduction of the IDC230. Developed for various tasks across the packaging, electronics and food processing industries the IDC230 is also capable of high technology tasks in assembly and track and trace intralogistics. Following on from the success of the recently launched IDC200, the ultra-compact IDC230 is characterised by the same ease-of-use and commissioning features and benefits.
Easy Integration and Commissioning
Unlike most conventional code and text readers the IDC230 set-up does not require any specialised software so the time-consuming installation process using IT specialists is eliminated. The combination of smart installation accessories, a sophisticated, yet simple user menu ensures quick and hassle free commissioning. Using the USB-C port enables the multi-code reader to be easily connected to a computer and activated via a web interface. Thanks to an auto-setup, just one click will suffice for reading several different codes, while the space-saving housing, matching accessories, Ethernet and USB-C interfaces as well as Profinet, Ethernet/IP and DIO protocols ensure easy integration. Furthermore, freely available configurable data telegrams means all the code readers of the IDC family can be easily integrated into existing systems and adapted to specific individual data formats.
High performance, Fast Code and Text Reading
Based on the same innovative technology as the IDC200, the IDC230 is capable of reading multiple lines of text and 1D/2D codes in parallel at high speed and can process up to 40 frames per second, even on different code types. The readers’ bright integrated lighting is ideal for challenging applications, eliminating the need for external illumination along with the associated time and costs. The addition of the new IDC230 enables Baumer to provide the right code and text reading solution for many industrial automation applications that require simultaneous text reading, for example label inspection.
It also overcomes the challenges of reflective surfaces, changing light conditions, module sizes or minimal resolution limitations.
