Mouser Electronics, Inc. is pleased to announce the availability of the MEAS wireless sensor development board from TE Connectivity (TE), a global leader in connectivity and sensors. The board reports relative humidity, temperature and barometric pressure through Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, providing environmental data for evaluating weather stations, HVAC systems, and other industrial applications. The development board is intended for demonstration or evaluation purposes only. It is not tested to meet any FCC certifications and is not considered by TE to be a finished end-product fit for general consumer use.
TE’s MEAS wireless sensor development board, available to order from Mouser Electronics, is based on two MEAS low-power sensors: the HTU21D(F) digital humidity sensor with temperature output and the MS5637 micro-altimeter. The HTU21D(F) sensor provides calibrated, linearized signals to detect relative humidity from 0 to 100 percent and temperature from ‑20 to +85 degrees Celsius. The MS5637 micro-altimeter is based on MEMS technology and includes a high-linearity pressure sensor and an ultra-low-power analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with internal factory-calibrated coefficients. The MS5637 sensor provides barometric pressure readings from 300 to 1,200 mBar.
The sensor development board is available from Mouser Electronics in two versions. The WPP100B001 version enables engineers to use the board with smartphones and tablets running the free TE Sensor Tag application, downloadable from the Google Play Store for Android or the App Store for iOS. Through the free application, engineers can use a smartphone or tablet as a display or datalog terminal for the board. The WPP109B001 version includes a USB dongle that connects the board to a computer running Windows, allowing engineers to use the provided software to access the board’s features.
