Audio manufacturer Linn has teamed up with Hutchinson Group, including the services of Hutchinson Engineering and H360 Design, to source bespoke base and stand components for the recently launched 530 speaker, part of the new Linn Series 5 range of music systems.
The Hutchinson Group completed work on the components for the speakers which, along with an Akurate Exakt DSM network music player, comprise a high-end audio system.
Iain Redley, product design engineer at Linn, said: “We worked closely with the team at H360 to perfect the design for the base of the speaker for the 530 System. The team was phenomenal and aided greatly with the design and engineering of bespoke components of the base and stand. H360 were an obvious choice for tailor-made engineering design services.”
Ian Ferguson, design engineer at H360, said: “We were approached by Iain Redley earlier this year after a meeting a few years ago regarding a different product. Redley and the team at Linn then flew over to Northern Ireland where we collaborated on the solidworks design and came up with the best possible way of supplying Linn’s design.
“The approach to design and engineering is incredibly different to many of the more functional projects we would undertake, however, the outcome has reinforced our capabilities as a provider.”
Earlier in the year, H360 revealed another collaborative project with TBC Mobility Conversions, a full conversion of a new mobility car, the Ford Tourneo Connect.
