Mouser Electronics is stocking the STEVAL-ISA175V1 evaluation board from STMicroelectronics.
This new product implements a three-output isolated flyback devised to supply smart-meter and power-line communication systems on a PCB layout specifically designed to fit inside a meter in the field.
The core of the application is the VIPer26HD, an offline, high-voltage converter from ST's VIPerPlus family. This has an 800V avalanche ruggedness power MOSFET, PWM operation at 115kHz with frequency jittering for lower electromagnetic interference, and current limiting with adjustable set point.
The evaluation board offers both onboard soft-start and safe auto-restart after a fault condition.
The power supply operates across an extended 90-264VAC mains input voltage range, with overvoltage up to 440VAC to also be used with a phase-to-phase connection in a three-phase network.
The RoHS-compliant STEVAL-ISA175V1 evaluation board can help reduce BOM costs and time to market when creating smart-meter and power-line communication products such as home automation and industrial power.
