has launched a five-port conduction cooled USB controller module for 32-bit CompactPCI and VMEbus systems. The PMCUSB2 is the first in BVM’s new RoHS-compliant family of PCI mezzanine cards.
The PMCUSB2 features three front-panel USB ports. In addition, two ports for internal communications are accessible either on the rear I/O on the PMC P4 connector, via a PICMG-compatible PIM, or on a 10-pin on-board connector.
Using the NEC µPD720101 controller, the PMCUSB2 is compatible with the OHCI (USB1) specification for 1.5Mb/s and 12Mb/s data transfers and EHCI (USB2) specification for 480Mb/s transfers, ensuring that drivers are available for most operating systems.
Power is supplied to each port via an LM3526 power switch providing regulation and over-current protection. The ISO9001:2000 certified PMCUSB2 has a zero to 70 degrees C environmental specification, with provision for conduction cooling where required.
