Following demand from new and existing customers the Gast Group’s compact, lightweight air motors, which are known industry-wide for its combination of rugged construction and reliability, are now available in 304L stainless steel and with ATEX approval.
Suitable for use in a variety of industrial and manufacturing sectors including food and beverage; medical, healthcare and laboratory; paint and resin; and nuclear, the corrosion-resistant, stainless steel air motors are suitable for applications including drum mixing equipment; food and pharmaceutical packaging; pump, turntable, chopper and conveyor drives; and hoists and winches. They can also be used in offshore applications and other wet environments.
The stainless steel range is available in four models from 0.33 to 3.90 kW (0.45 to 5.25 HP), with motor speeds up to 10,000 RPM. They also feature ATEX approval to the T4 standard and are classed as intrinsically-safe in hazardous environments, which reduces the possibility of explosion from the ignition of flammable gases.
The Gast Group’s stainless steel air motors can be mounted in almost any position and users can choose from hub, foot, face, NEMA C-Flange or Metric D Series interface mountings, and clockwise, counterclockwise or reversible rotations. Four vane models are available as standard, with eight vane models available for smoother running and better control for short-run applications including winches, hoists and hose reels.
Production of the range is being phased-in, with the 1AM and 4AM available for immediate delivery, and the 6AM and 8AM due in early 2008.
