(I&S) has received an order from Corus Staal,

, to modernise two tin-plating lines. Installation and commissioning of the drive systems will be completed by the end of 2005.

For modernisation of the tin-plating lines, Siemens will supply 172 three-phase motors, which will replace the old DC drives. The drives will be controlled by Simovert Masterdrive units.

Both tin-plating lines will be equipped with a uniform automation system based on the “Siroll PL” concept for strip processing lines. Simatic S7 and WinCC will be used as the system platform, including new HMI equipment with process and plant diagnostic functions.

The order also includes project management and engineering services, the installation of all new components and their commissioning. The two lines will each be converted in one step during two downtime periods.
