to supply two heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) and one 300 MW steam turbine generator. The equipment will be installed at the Halton Hills Generating Station, located near

The new power plant will feature Alstom’s triple-pressure reheat 'Optimised for Cycling and Constructability' (OCC) HRSGs. This design is said to deliver significant customer benefits, including improved performance and optimised fabrication and construction practices. The OCC’s operational flexibility and daily cycling service means that plant owners can match the amount of electricity generated at different times of the day to actual demand.

Halton Hills is Alstom’s third order with TransCanada for combined cycle power plant equipment in three years.

The Halton Hills Generating Station will help supply Ontario's growing power needs with new generation capacity. When it enters commercial operation in 2010, the combined cycle plant will have the capacity to generate enough power for approximately 600,000 area homes.
