Combined cycle contract for Alstom

a contract worth approximately €175m to build the first Alstom GT26-based combined cycle power plant in

India

. This 370MW plant will be an extension of the existing combined cycle power plant located at Utran, Surat District,

State of Gujarat, India

.

Alstom is to provide all engineering, procurement and construction services to deliver a fully integrated combined cycle power plant, with heat recovery steam generator, gas turbine and generator, steam turbine and generator, and DCS (Distributed Control System).

The power plant will be built around Alstom’s GT26 gas turbine technology, which, according to the company, is the most efficient gas turbine technology on the market with the highest overall plant efficiency in its class in combined cycle.

The plant will be the fourth combined cycle power plant constructed by Alstom in the state of Gujarat, after Kawas, Gandhar, and Hazira. It will add up to 10 per cent to the generating capacity of GSECL.
