Due to their complex structure, coatings have a complex flow behaviour that cannot be described by one viscosity value. The viscosity depends greatly on the flow velocity.
A rheological test for determining the sagging behaviour of spray coatings was presented using two water-based coatings as an example. The step test was used to simulate the decomposition and regeneration of the coating structure.
