When temporary malfunctions occur in distribution grids, reclosers ensure a fast shutdown and automatic reactivation of the grid section in question. Thanks to recent developments in the field of so-called ‘smart grids’, strategies for testing these systems are now becoming increasingly important.
OMICRON’s CMC test sets allow recloser controls to be tested for reliable functioning both quickly and easily. Thanks to various, manufacturer-specific connections, the test set is easy to connect to recloser control units using the testing cables developed specifically for this purpose.
To ensure that the control systems of new recloser models can also be connected and tested just as easily as they have been in the past, OMICRON is constantly updating and extending its range of corresponding accessories. Aside from connection solutions for recloser control systems from manufacturers such as ABB, Cooper, G&W, Siemens, S&C, Tavrida, and Thomas&Betts, a new testing cable package is now available, which supports multiple manufacturers thanks to its 42-pin SEL multi-interface. In addition to this, the already comprehensive range of specific testing solutions for the control systems of the recloser manufacturer Schneider has been extended to include a new 24-pin interface.
