For the packaging industry, Megadyne is able to offer new types of covers for machines transporting products, or the packaging of the same. These covers are called Bluegrip, TNX and Redgrip. They are produced together with the belt and eliminate any problems of detachment. These covers have been developed with three different hardnesses, thus ensuring perfect grip and optimum performance for any type of application.
Bluegrip and TNX covers are based on a natural rubber mixture that enable high abrasion resistance and a good resistance to lubricating oils. The belts is are made with a ‘one-shot’ technique. This allows a rubber belt with a glass-fibre traction cable and polyamide coating on the teeth, which offers resistance and low wear, together with a cover with an optimum friction coefficient, silicone absence and non-marking. Belts with Bluegrip coating are also suitable for applications in humid environments, where the friction coefficient is reduced.
Red Grip covers are designed for use on polyurethane closed belts; they are are based on a hybrid compound of synthetic rubber and polyurethane; and are extruded on the body of the belt, thus avoiding further loss of time for glueing. This production method ensures a better hold of the cover itself, high resistance to abrasion and oils, and, consequently, a longer life.
