The new firmware version 2.0 for ISIO 200, the versatile binary I/O terminal for Substation Automation Systems, provides many new features and enhancements. In addition to the already existing GOOSE functionality, the ISIO 200 now provides an IEC 61850 Edition 2 server. The web interface received a new look and support for mobile devices.
With its new IEC 61850 Ed. 2 server, ISIO 200 now communicates with an IEC 61850 SCADA system. The server maps the binary inputs and outputs to attributes in the IEC 61850 data model. Changes to the binary inputs trigger IEC 61850 reports and GOOSE messages. The binary outputs can be controlled by subscribed GOOSEs and by control services.
Users can select from four data models: the general-purpose I/O terminal data model maps the binary I/O status to GGIO logical nodes. The circuit breaker interface data model connects the status signals (52A/B) of up to four circuit breakers to an IEC 61850 automation system. The overcurrent relay interface and teleprotection interface data models make legacy protection status signals available to an IEC 61850 protection and automation system.
The redesigned web interface with its new look and feel for an optimised operating experience fully supports mobile devices with small screens, such as smartphones. Among other improvements, the status of all subscribed and published GOOSE messages with their GOOSE dataset structure can now be observed from the web interface for easy troubleshooting.
