The millions of tonnes of (often ludicrous) junk mail that arrives in homes and workplaces should be curbed with punitive carbon taxes.
Much of it cannot even be recycled because it is so heavily glazed or laminated. The effect dwarfs all other carbon-generating activities.
The families who need to use bags on their weekly visit to the supermarket should not be penalised while politicians do nothing about the junk mail outrage.
