The difficulties of space flight should not be underestimated, and prospective space tourists must accept the risk, said the largrest group of the 471 respondents to last week’s poll, with 45 per cent choosing that option. Another 30 per cent thought that space tourism was likely to be vital to the future of crewed spaceflight; while 10 per cent wanted greater oversight of space tourism by regulators. The same number thought that it was too frivolous to be worth risking lives over. Insurance wasn’t much of a concern, with only 1 per cent picking the difficulties of taking on the risk as a deciding factor. A further 4 per cent reclined to pick an option.
