As the UK is one of the first major economies to have passed a new zero emissions law, Framatome is helping the UK to reach its 2050 targets by contributing to new EPR reactors New Builds (Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C), supplying fuel elements and supporting the maintenance and long-term operations of existing plants. In 2023, Framatome also confirmed its intention to set up a fuel fabrication facility in the UK.
The growth in the demand for engineering and technology in the nuclear industry requires multi-disciplinary and highly technical expertise, and this is encompassed in both Framatome’s local offer in the UK, and globally. Engineers can look forward to working on an exciting panoply of technical studies, technology developments, designs, projects and manufacturing challenges and goals which encompass Framatome’s activity and the industry at large.
Framatome Ltd, which has four locations across the UK including Avonmouth, where we have a large manufacturing base, Cranfield in Bedfordshire, Bristol, HPC and Sizewell, is on a very rapid growth trajectory.
Framatome globally is looking at recruiting over 2,500 engineers yearly and the nuclear sector in the UK and Europe is looking to recruit tens of thousands of engineers in the coming years.
