MODSIM seamlessly unifies modelling and simulation, it offers a unique approach to design exploration, optimisation, and validation. The integration of these traditionally distinct disciplines opens up opportunities for faster design cycles, reduced development costs, and the discovery of new innovations.
Through customer use case examples, we will demonstrate how the MODSIM approach is used to efficiently design and analyse structures by incorporating simulation into the design process. This approach enables designers and engineers to optimise the design and performance of their products with greater efficiency and accuracy.
Alongside Dassault Systemes presenters Padmeya Prashant Indurkar and Raman Singh guest speaker Michael Brown, Technical Specialist – CAE Automation from Jaguar Land Rover will share insights into how MODSIM has been successfully adopted in the automotive industry, demonstrating the importance of empowering engineers to make data driven decisions and what it takes to drive this transformation into a large engineering company.

Padmeya Prashant Indurkar MODSIM Industry Process Consultant
Padmeya drives innovation by transforming clients’ product development workflows enabling simulation-driven design leveraging the state-of-the-art 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA and SIMULIA capabilities such as generative design, parametric and topology optimisation, advanced materials modelling, and ML/AI-driven simulation. Prior to this, Padmeya worked as a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge on computational fracture mechanics, and developed data-driven deep learning techniques for lattice architected materials. Padmeya holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS) where he developed computational methods for emerging lightweight metallic alloys. His research has been published in leading computational mechanics journals and conferences worldwide.
Raman Singh - Industry Process Consultant, Senior Manager
Raman Singh is the Technical Executive Manager at Dassault Systèmes, where he leads a team overseeing Modelling & Simulation (MODSIM) technical activities across 12 industries and 11 countries in Northern Europe. With over 14 years of experience spanning across both industry and academia, Raman is particularly passionate about modelling and simulation, especially within the Industrial Equipment sector. He has spearheaded key initiatives for customers, successfully enabling design driven simulation and significantly improving their product development process. Raman enjoys leveraging his expertise in design and simulation to tackle complex challenges faced by a diverse range of clients, supported by his team.
Michael Brown - Technical Specialist, CAE Automation, Jaguar Land Rover
Graduating from the University of Sheffield in June 2013 with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Michael joined Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) as a graduate in September 2013. Throughout his 11 years within the business Michael has spent most of his time working in virtual engineering. Having pioneered simulation automation within the 3D Experience platform, Michael was promoted to Technical Specialist – CAE Automation in 2021. Michael is the business leader driving development of Simulation Templates and supporting the business’ transformation to better integration of CAD and CAE processes within Product Engineering at JLR. Michael is a member of the IMechE as a Chartered Engineer.
