Train order for Oslo
Oslo Vognselskap has placed an order worth approximately €110m with Siemens Mobility for 20 metro trains.

The trains, worth approximately €110m (£87m), will be built at Siemens Mobility’s plant in Vienna. Deliveries are expected to be complete by 2010.
The order, signed yesterday in Berlin, exercises an option under the terms of a 2003 contract that Oslo Sporveier had originally placed with Siemens for 33 three-car metro trains. In that contract, Oslo Vognselskap took the option of ordering up to 85 additional metro trains. One option was taken up for a second batch of 30 metro trains in September 2005.
Features of the vehicles delivered to Oslo include substantially reduced energy consumption compared to Oslo’s old metro trains and a very high recycling rate of almost 95 per cent.
