Worn like a sticking plaster, Sensium is an ultra low power sensor interface and transceiver that has healthcare and lifestyle management applications.
Used in conjunction with an appropriate external sensor, Sensium provides monitoring of ECG, temperature, blood glucose and oxygen levels via handheld devices such as mobile phones. It can also interface to three axis accelerometers, pressure sensors and includes a temperature sensor on chip.
To support its accelerating commercialisation and growth, Toumaz is gaining international patent protection for the core Sensium technology in major global markets.
Earlier this year, Toumaz announced an agreement with Healthe International – a health group operating in
The Australian patent covers the core technology that enables the Sensium platform to operate using orders of magnitude lower power than previously required, enabling a dramatic reduction in battery size.
'The protection of our proprietary core technology in the key markets across the world is fundamental as we move into this key phase of market development for Sensium-enabled products,' commented Toumaz’s COO, Keith Errey.
