Now in its 10th year, The Engineer’s annual Salary Survey is one of the most comprehensive reviews of salary levels and job satisfaction across all sectors of industry in the UK.
By asking engineers from across industry about their pay levels, job satisfaction, benefits and concerns the survey creates a compelling yearly snapshot of life in UK engineering. By taking part in the survey you will help shape our rolling coverage of this ever-important topic.

As always the results of the survey will be fed into The Engineers online salary benchmarking tool, which you will be able to use to see how your salary compares with that of your peers. Meanwhile, by comparing this year’s findings with earlier sets of data The Engineer will identify some of the key trends affecting engineering job seekers and recruiters.
Key findings in last year’s survey - which attracted responses from almost 900 engineers from across 11 sectors - included a 13 per cent year on year average salary increase and a growing appetite for change.
The full results of the Salary Survey will be published as a special interactive supplement to The Engineer at the beginning of March 2025.
