The five-year contract includes a base year plus four one-year options and presents the opportunity to bid on portions of a work package estimated at $149m.

In addition to its non-nuclear ship repair capabilities, BAE Systems provides key hull preservation services to the nuclear submarine force and specialises in corrosion control and habitability work for US Navy ships.

BAE Systems Ship Repair is a US non-nuclear ship repair, modernisation and conversion company, focused on dry dock and ship repair services for the US Navy, other defence agencies and commercial customers. It has major operations in Norfolk, San Diego, San Francisco and Hawaii.
