SSD Drives part of the Parker Automation Group has appointed Braintree based Micromech to distribute their high performance drives. As a UK based manufacturer, SSD has been designing and building drives for over 30 years to become a global supplier of quality equipment.
The two families of drives to be distributed by Micromech are the 650 and the 690+ ranges, both well known throughout industry.
The 650 and 650V AC inverters are for motors from 0.2 to 110kW and are specifically designed to provide a simple, no-fuss speed control, cost effective solution for the simplest to most complex open-loop motor control applications. The 650 has single key selectable pre-programmed applications so set-up is quick and easy without unnecessary complications.
In addition the 650V has the added benefit of an ultra-high torque sensorless vector algorithm and the control flexibility of fully configurable Function Block Programming. Powers are available up to 110kW on 400V three-phase supplied and 1.5kW on 230V supplies and all units include integral EMC compliant filters.
They are extremely simple to set up and operate with integral operator controls. They have optional remote mounting facility and an exceptionally compact design. The 650 can handle a 150% overload for 30 seconds and also has a motor thermistor input.
The 690+ Integrator handles motors of 0.75 to 1,000kW and is a single range of AC drives designed to meet the requirements of all variable speed applications from simple single motor speed control through to the most sophisticated integrated multi drive systems.
Three phase (380-500V) ratings are available from 0.37 to 1,000kW and single-phase ratings (220-240V) from 0.37 to 2.2kW. At the heart of the 690+ is a highly advanced, 32-bit microprocessor based, motor control algorithm that provides an excellent dynamic performance platform to which can be added a host of control options that allows tailoring the drive to meet customers exact requirements.
The 690+ has open loop (V/F), sensorless, vector and closed loop vector in a single drive. It has function block programming, common programming, communicates with a host of the most common fieldbus protocols, in addition to many useful software tools. They are dual rated for constant or quadratic ‘fan’ torque and of course have integral EMC compliant filters.
