New centres will offer specialist contract balancing services
Schenck, the world leader in balancing and diagnostics technology, has re-introduced its contract balancing service by opening its first Schenck Balancing Centre in Staffordshire with WS Engineering Ltd. The idea behind these new regional centres is to offer a wide range of contract services using a combination of state-of-the-art balancing and spin testing technology and specialist expertise and consultancy.
The first accredited Schenck Balancing Centre at WS Engineering Ltd's Leek facility is equipped with the latest Schenck horizontal and vertical balancing machines and advanced CAB computer control and measurement systems. The centre is able to test all types and sizes of rotor from 1gram to 100kgs.
"Every company has equipment and machines that need to be well balanced to improve performance, productivity, safety and reliability, but many do not have the technology or skills to carry out the work," says Roy Fulton, managing director at Schenck Limited, based in Warwick. "We believe that there is a great demand for contract balancing services across a wide range of engineering industries - whether it is for R&D, prototype design, serial production and quality control or service and maintenance."
WS Engineering Ltd has been providing engineering services for over 30 years and has worked closely with Schenck over the last 6 years, installing and re-locating precision balancing machines across a range of industrial sectors including automotive production, manufacturing, utilities and aerospace technology.
"We are delighted to be the first accredited Schenck Balancing Centre," says Graham Owen, managing director at WS Engineering Ltd. "With our team of specially trained balancing engineers and well equipped machine shop, we can work with customers to identify their individual requirements and deliver a cost effective solution with a fast turnaround."
