Remanufacturing Cats

Caterpillar’s Remanufacturing Services Division is to buy the European engine remanufacturer Eurenov.

Eurenov, which began operations in 1973 as SNOM, offers a variety of products such as remanufactured engines, new and remanufactured transmissions, and remanufactured fuel pumps.

The company has about 155 employees at two facilities – its main plant is in Chaumont in France, the other in Radom in Poland.

The acquisition will give Caterpillar greater access to the European automotive and industrial engine and transmission remanufacturing market and allow it to expand into Eastern Europe.

Caterpillar hopes to obtain full ownership in 2007, subject to the completion of legal and regulatory requirements.
