Lincolnshire-based engineering company Hobson Industries has unveiled a Land Rover military truck reconstructed from asset managed parts taken from written off vehicles.
The company is showing the asset managed truck utility medium general service (TUM GS) hard top vehicle at the Defence Vehicle Dynamics (DVD) show.
Hobson Industries has previously re-built a number of vehicles under contract to the MoD using asset managed parts. The company believes it is possible to salvage over 60 per cent of parts from wrecked vehicles and rebuild them as new.
Hobson Industries has taken over the liability to dispose of the MoD’s old fleet under an EU approved disposal system, supporting the MoD’s liability to dispose of its vehicles under the Environmental Protection Act.
‘The Land Rover is probably the most eco-friendly vehicle in the world, giving a competitive advantage when it comes to recycling and rebuild over its competitors,’ Peter Hobson, Managing Director of Hobson Industries, said.
