Qinetiq has signed an agreement to purchase the Melbourne, Australia-based AeroStructures Group, specialists in engineering analysis and assessment of aircraft and helicopter structures.
AeroStructures also carries out non-destructive testing management, design and inspection services and delivers specialist engineering professional development training in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Its clients include the Australian Defence Force and the Defence Science & Technology Organisation.
The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval in Australia, and is expected to be completed by the end of February 2008.
AeroStructures is currently undertaking full-scale structural testing of the Boeing 787 wing flaps for local Boeing subsidiary Hawker de Havilland.
