The UK aerospace industry was given a boost today following the announcement that Qinetiq and Airbus have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU).
The companies have worked together over a number of years on critical areas such as advanced computational flow dynamics (CFD) and developing the creep age process which helped make the A380’s huge wings.
The agreement will further advance the relationship with research and technology (R&T) in areas such as fluid mechanics, chemical fuel modelling and advanced landing gear components.
The results of these activities would find natural application in the whole aircraft.
