The Denby Pottery Company Ltd. have recently taken delivery of two Nu-Star Power Pushers at their manufacturing facility in Denby, Derbyshire. Established in 1809, Denby Pottery is world famous for its stoneware & porcelain and has been manufacturing in Denby for nearly 200 years.
The Power Pushers are used to push & pull pots to and from the kilns and also manoeuvre loaded kiln cars in and out of the kilns themselves.
Richard Brooke (Denby’s Kiln Technician) contacted Nu-Star in November 2006 as part of an initiative to reduce the manual handling risks associated with moving heavy plant & work trolleys around the site. After an on site demonstration, Richard decided the versatile Steering Arm attachment on the Power Pusher enabled the requisite tasks to be achieved efficiently and safely.
“Nu-Star were very helpful and professional in tailoring the Pushers to our exact requirements. The new equipment has helped us make significant progress towards our health and safety targets. We have also gained an improvement in control given the smooth nature of the Pusher’s drive. We are seeing less damage to pots in transit around the factory and after they have been fired in the kilns.”
