Philips taps Toppoly
Royal Philips Electronics has completed the merger of Philips Mobile Display Systems with Toppoly Optoelectronics Corporation of Taiwan to form a joint mobile display company.

Royal Philips Electronics has announced that it has completed the merger of Philips Mobile Display Systems with Toppoly Optoelectronics Corporation of Taiwan to form a joint mobile display company.
The new company is named TPO. Its principal shareholders are Taiwan-based Compal Electronics, which holds 25.1%, and Philips, which has 17.5%.
TPO said it aims to be one of the world's leading solution providers in the mobile display industry by combining Philips' and Toppoly's respective strengths and resources.
