Alstomhave signed a contract for the delivery of 49 rubber-tyred automatic metro trainsets with an option for 10 additional metro trainsets. The contract, worth €474 million, includes spare parts and tooling.

The first metros will be delivered mid-June 2008; the last trains being scheduled for the end of 2010.
Over in
The contract, with Argentinean aluminium company Aluar, covers the engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of the plant, which will supply electricity to Aluar’s smelters at its site in Puerto Madryn.
Alstom will also supply two gas treatment systems within the site’s pot room and anode bake furnace. The power plant is due to come into commercial operation in November 2007.
