Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) and international wireless and broadcast group Radio Frequency Systems (RFS) have entered into a partnership to market Boeing's Modernised High Frequency Communications System (MHFCS) globally.
The MHFCS facilitates the secure exchange of information and data between fixed and mobile stations via high-frequency communications. The memorandum of agreement will see the acquisition of the MHFCS by RFS, which will provide its antenna rosette technology alongside Boeing’s system.
Prior to completion of the agreement, BDA and RFS will share responsibility for presenting the system to a range of military, government and telecommunications providers.
Steve Parker, vice-president and general manager of Network and Space Systems for BDA, said: ‘Developed over 10 years for use by the Australian Defence Force, Boeing's MHFCS is independently recognised as the world's most advanced system of its type.
‘RFS is an important supplier of antenna systems to BDA and this agreement marks the next step in our teams' successful collaboration,' he added. 'RFS's expertise in the innovative design, manufacture and installation of high-frequency antennas significantly strengthens our MHFCS offering.’
Stéphane Klajzyngier, president of RFS, said: ‘As a leader in customised next-generation solutions for the most demanding defence and civilian operations, RFS is mobilising its world-class high-frequency communications capabilities to support Boeing's international MHFCS and defence outreach.’
