The new Quad Series from Clare Instruments is the first tester that can be used to HiPOT/flash test electrical products with in-built internal circuitry while they are connected to an isolated power supply.
Typical products that incorporate internal circuits are microprocessor based domestic/industrial washing machines, cooking appliances, consumer audio/TV/IT products and construction machinery built to international standards such as IEC355, IEC950, IEC601, IEC598, and IEC204.
The Quad is available in both single and three phase options for user flexibility and ease-of-operation.
Test results are displayed on the HAL Flash and Insulation Tester via a high contrast large LCD backlit display, with intuitive rotary encoder and soft key controls to enable system configuration.
The HAL has been specifically designed to meet HiPot flash testing and test data traceability demands associated with modern quality assurance and safety standards. Operation of the new instrument complies with the recently introduced EN 50191 electrical safety testing standard.
The unit is capable of carrying out AC or DC flash testing and insulation testing in both open and closed area test environments. User-friendly controls and programmable options for establishing test voltages, ramping times, leakage limits and other parameters allow complex test sequences to be generated safely and effectively.
Clare Instruments, part of the Seaward Group, is a market leading supplier of electrical safety testing instrumentation and systems for manufacturers serving international markets.
