Torrent Power Generationfor the construction of a turnkey combined cycle power plant with a capacity of 1,100 Megawatts (MW).

The Siemens PG scope of supply will encompass three gas turbines, three steam turbines and three generators. The company will also supply the plant’s electrical and I&C systems. Commissioning of the first unit is scheduled for 2007.
”To meet the country’s rapidly growing power demand the Indian government is planning an ambitious expansion program,” commented Klaus Voges, President of Siemens Power Generation. “By 2012, new power plants with a combined capacity of 100,000 MW are to be built.”
