Moog FCS has secured a contract to provide Airbus with multi-channel digital servo control system requirements for all of the Airbus ground-based testing facilities until at least 2016.
Moog FCS, a provider of aerospace test equipment, will be the sole source to Airbus for multi-channel digital servo control systems, supplying Airbus with a single platform across all of its European structural testing facilities. Under the agreement, initial system deliveries have commenced and will run until May 2016.
Moog has supplied systems for the last seven years, initially at the Airbus Filton facility in the UK. Airbus currently uses a range of systems across its facilities, including its own systems developed in-house, and will gradually replace them with Moog FCS systems.
The drive to move to a single platform was prompted by the extensive testing schedules Airbus faces with developments on A380, A400M and A350, in quick succession. According to Moog FCS, the implementation of a single supplier across the Airbus testing facilities in Europe will lead to greater efficiency and flexibility to meet the various programme demands.
