has won several contracts, totalling $36.3 million, with the US Department of the Army to provide network integration and professional services for a communications infrastructure upgrades at US Army installations in

North America

and

Europe

The agreements are in support of the Army’s Installation Information Infrastructure Modernization Program (I3MP), which is focused on upgrading voice and data network infrastructure at Army bases around the world.

The bases included in the Lucent contract include three US-based facilities: Ft. Gordon and Fort Benning in Georgia and Scofield Enclave in Hawaii and three US Army bases in Germany: Husterhohe Kaserne, Pulaski Barracks, and Kleber Kaserne.

In 2003, Lucent announced an earlier group of contracts with the Army valued at $50 million for infrastructure upgrades at Army installations in North America and Asia.

Lucent Worldwide Services (LWS) will provide a variety of services at each base including installation, integration and ongoing maintenance of the new communications infrastructure that ties together voice switches and high-speed optical and data equipment.

Lucent and its predecessor has had a team of people dedicated to working with the US Army as part of the I3MP project for more than 12 years.
