Foster Wheeler Italiana has been awarded a contract by Zwara Oil Refinery Company (ZORCO) to deliver management services for its Mellita oil facility.

It is estimated to cost a total of $4bn and will include a facility designed to produce premium quality petrol, jet fuel and diesel with minimal fuel oil production.
Foster Wheeler will be responsible for the optimisation of the refinery configuration, the selection of licensors and the front-end engineering design (FEED).
The company will also act as project management consultant for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) phase of the project.
The value of the contract for the study and FEED phase will be released in the company’s fourth-quarter bookings this year.
The remainder of the contract will be booked once the project gains approval by ZORCO.
The oil refinery is scheduled for completion in 2014.
