The SD-WAN system will connect JLR’s global HQ with its plants, warehouses, sales centres and data centres, facilitating the roll out of Industry 4.0 technologies and advanced analytics. According to the carmaker, the technology will help boost supply chain efficiency and security, as well as allow for AI-powered capture of real-time data that can be used to improve the performance of production lines.

The cutting-edge connectivity platform will help us build the world-class ecosystem we need to deliver modern luxury vehicles and remarkable driving experiences.”
JLR is wholly owned by Tata Motors, part of the Tata Group that is also the parent company to Tata Communications. JLR and Tata Communications have a longstanding relationship, with the latter providing the MOVE platform that helps deliver connectivity, infotainment and telematics in over 600,000 JLR vehicles. According to the partners, implementation of the SD-WAN technology is already underway and is expected to be completed by 2025.
