29 August 2008: Industrial Gas Springs (IGS), the leading provider of standard and bespoke gas springs and dampers, has announced the appointment of Martin Eagle as managing director.
Extensive investment has been made into IGS following the new ownership of the organisation, with a new strategy in place to drive the company forward. Martin Eagle will play an integral role in these developments, to not only further extend the company’s product portfolio, but also to widen the reach of its products into a more varied marketplace, thus allowing customers to take full advantage of their standard and bespoke designed and made to order range. Based in Mitcham, Mr Eagle will also focus on improving order response levels, service and support.
“The recruitment of Martin is an exciting addition for us,” says James Godbold, IGS field sales manager. “He has worked within the engineering industry for over 30 years and brings extensive industry knowledge on board. We are confident that his expertise in both engineering and strategic management will be a great asset to the company.”
Martin joins IGS from Samuel Hodge Group, where he was group managing director, with other roles within the group dating back to 1993. Prior to this, he worked for Biwater Industries Ltd as commercial director responsible for marketing, sales and contracting activities of the pump division.
With his extensive corporate background Martin has a wealth of experience in implementing strategy, broadening international distribution networks and increasing penetration of existing and new markets.
“We have invested 25 years of industry knowledge in the development of our current portfolio. We see Martin’s appointment as a vital part of our future growth and are pleased to have him on board,” adds James Godbold. “His excellent experience and widespread industry links will be instrumental in enabling us to accelerate the development of both our products and the business as a whole.”
