This is the conclusion of the House of Lords Economic Affairs Select Committee, which today published a report outlining the deficiencies in the government’s case for HS2.
The government sets two main objectives for HS2: increasing capacity on the railway and rebalancing the economy but it fails to make a case for either, concludes the report.
