Developed by Prof Lord Ara Darzi and his team at Imperial College London and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, the technology also enables users to anonymously rate healthcare services in England.
These scores, along with official ratings by the government’s Care Quality Comission (CQC), are available for all users of the application to view, helping them choose the best services available.
Users can enter their medical history onto the application, including details of operations and test results as well as medical problems and allergies. This information can then be emailed to a doctor or showed to a clinician in the event of an emergency.
The application also allows a user to keep an up-to-date list of all their medications and to create alerts to remind them when to take which tablets, as well as when to attend health appointments.
Wellnote by Dr Darzi is free to download and available from the Apple store.
