Hamamatsu Photonics is introducing the S10420 series of high performance, cost effective back thinned CCD image sensors. the S10420 series has been developed and optimised specifically for lower cost, portable spectroscopic applications. It comes in two formats, with 1024 or 2048 pixels length and 64 pixel height, which gives added sensitivity compared to use of linear CCD sensors not originally developed for analytical applications. The device has excellent uniformity and long term stability, reducing
the costs of re-calibration.
