Connector and component manufacturer GTK has added a UK manufacturing capability to complement its Far Eastern facilities with the acquisition of a cable assembly and box-building facility based in Romsey, Hampshire. The 6000 square foot plant is able to offer technical assistance, prototyping, pre-production and production services on all types of assembly – crimp, coax, idc, looms – as well as box-building.
GTK has been growing rapidly in the past few years – increasing sales by over 14% this year. The company is investing much of its increased revenue in expanding its product capabilities in focused areas – cables, connectors, LEDs, PCBs and box-build – as well as tooling and manufacturing. This latest acquisition reflects the company’s commitment to service its customers with local development and design, as well as quick turn around on low to medium order runs.
Explains Ian Perris, General Manager, GTK UK Ltd, Romsey: “With a 20-strong workforce we have many years of experience supplying product to all industry sectors. We are proud of our facility and encourage our customers to visit us so they can inspect our capabilities, systems and processes.”
