Green Warriors of Norwayhas ordered navigation radars from
Northrop Grummanfor its new ship.
Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit will supply the ship, M/V Miljødronningen, with two VisionMaster FT radars.
They incorporate Sperry Marine’s automatic clutter suppression technology, which facilitates detecting and identifying small, weak targets in the presence of sea and rain clutter.
They will be integrated into the vessel’s electronic chart display, information system and voyage data recorder, with a live information link to a conference room.
The purpose of the 33.9m catamaran is to provide a floating conference space and environmental surveillance platform, as well as a “laboratory” in which scientists can conduct underwater environmental research.
The building of the M/V Miljødronningen will be completed in September.
