Saudi Aramco has awarded Foster Wheeler Energy and Foster Wheeler Arabia a front-end engineering design (FEED) and program management services contract for an onshore gas processing plant in Saudi Arabia.
Financial details of the contract, for the Karan plant at Khursaniyah, Saudia Arabia, were not disclosed.
The onshore gas processing plant will process 28 million cubic metres per day of gas from the Karan offshore gas field, which will enter operation in 2011.
As well as supplying the growing Saudi demand for gas, a small percentage of the sales gas will be used to fuel the plant. The plant will include gas processing trains, acid gas removal, dehydration and sulphur recovery equipment, substations and all associated utilities and infrastructure.
