People always on the go can now check e-mails, find addresses and phone numbers without turning on their laptops, thanks to the development of a wearable display module.
, the inventor and manufacturer of ElekTex smart fabric touchpads for consumer electronics, designed the module so it is easily integrated into soft goods such as briefcases and backpacks, providing what it claims is the first on-bag screen available for any computer electronics product.
The module allows a carry case to be connected directly to a laptop so that data can be viewed from the bag's exterior, without needing to open it.
Designed to support the Windows SideShow feature in Windows Vista, an auxiliary or secondary display on a laptop, Eleksen's module works with any application designed for SideShow-based devices to support e-mail, online calendar, media player and other functions.
The display can be used to view the information users need, whether the laptop is on, off, or in sleep mode.
