Mitsubishi Motors has unveiled a concept electric car that makes use of both solar and wind power!
The i MiEV Sport model features a rechargeable battery and a body made of aluminium to keep down its weight.
On one charge, the model has a range of 200 kilometres, 25 per cent more than the automaker's i MiEV minivehicle-type electric vehicle model. The maximum speed of the car is 180 kilometres per hour.
To generate supplementary energy for the vehicle, it has been fitted with a solar cell panel on its roof as well as a fan in the front air intake system for wind power generation!
The new car will be on show at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show this autumn.
The show opens on October 26 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo, and runs through November 11.

I'd like to know where these are operating in the UK. The report is notably light on this. I wonder why?
