Under the agreement, KLM will add three Next-Generation 737-700s and two 777-300ERs (Extended Range) to its fleet. Furthermore, KLM took options on one additional 737 and two additional 777s.

KLM is expecting to receive delivery of the first 777-300ER from Boeing in the first quarter of 2008. Its existing fleet contains 15 777-200ERs in a combination of leases and direct purchases.

Boeing’s 777 programme contains 350 unfilled orders worth more than $90bn at current list prices. It also has unfilled orders for more than 1,800 Next-Generation 737s worth more than £130bn at current list prices.
