announced yesterday that it has won a $44 million contract from General Electric to supply power equipment for a project to help
meet growing demand for water and electricity.

The power station, designed to produce 550 megawatts of electricity and 40 million gallons of water from a desalination plant, will be operated for 25 years by Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation, known locally as Kahramaa.
The contract is scheduled to be completed next February, in time to meet peak demand for water and electricity during the Gulf state’s arid summer.?
