The Department for Transport (
DfT) has announced the appointment of Jacobs Engineering UK as the project representative for
London’s Crossrail project.
The project representative team will be tasked with supporting Crossrail’s sponsors - the DfT and Transport for London (TfL) - by reviewing reports, programmes and technical designs to ensure that the scheme is delivered on time and within budget.
Crossrail is Europe's largest construction project and is expected to generate £20bn and 30,000 jobs. It will run 118km from Maidenhead and Heathrow in the west, through new twin-bore 21km tunnels under central London to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east.
Crossrail is scheduled to open in 2017, bringing an additional 1.5 million people within a 60-minute commuting distance of London’s key business districts.

I'd like to know where these are operating in the UK. The report is notably light on this. I wonder why?
